This week, a former Sidekicks student and Dad came by to visit GMO. Grandmaster Orange is always pleased with former students who are doing well. He enjoys visiting with former students when they stop by Sidekicks to visit him.
He has seen her grow up from a little girl to now teaching youth activities herself. It’s always a pleasure for former Sidekicks students to meet GMO again. They appreciate the time spent at Sidekicks and have good memories of their Taekwondo classes.
This student, Anjanette became a black belt and is seen here with Grandmaster Orange outside of Sidekicks. She’s also a former barista at the coffee place next to Sidekicks, and her mom is a nurse.
Taekwondo training at Sidekicks helps children develop character and self-control. Some of the mental aspects of martial arts, like the Tenets of Taekwondo are as important as the physical aspect. If you’re familiar with the tenets of Taekwondo, you know what they are. Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. You exhibit all of these when you come back and visit Sidekicks and GMO.
Therefore, keeping in touch with former teachers and classmates is important. As we grow up, we realize who our support systems are. Grandmaster Orange is a support system for many former students.
